Terms & conditions

The terms on which we sell you time in a bay. Written to be read once and understood, rather than to be scrolled past. If something here is unclear, ask us before you book rather than after.

2. These terms and when they apply

They apply when you book a bay through this website, when you book at the desk and when you are on our premises. Making a booking means you accept them on behalf of everybody in your group and it is your job to make sure your group knows the ones that matter, the house rules in particular.

They work together with our refund and cancellation policy, our delivery and fulfilment policy, our privacy notice and the indemnity. All four are part of this agreement.

3. Booking a bay

  • You must be 18 or older to make a booking and to pay for one. Under-18s are welcome to play, with an adult present who has signed the indemnity for them.
  • Bays are booked by the hour, subject to the minimum booking time shown on the rates.
  • The rate depends on the size of your group. If more people arrive than you booked for, the rate is adjusted at the desk to the correct band.
  • A booking is for a named bay, for a stated period, starting at a stated time. It ends when it ends, whether or not you started on time.

When the contract is made

Choosing a slot is an offer from you. The contract is concluded when we accept it, which is the moment the booking is confirmed on screen and the confirmation email is sent, with a booking reference. Until then nothing is held and nothing is owed.

Checking before you commit

The summary panel beside the booking steps lists everything you have chosen: what you are playing, the course, the number of players, the date and time, the duration, the bay, club hire and the total due in Rand. It updates as you go. You can move back through any step to change an answer and you can abandon the booking entirely at any point before you confirm. This is your opportunity to review the whole transaction, correct a mistake and withdraw from it, as required by section 43(2) of the ECT Act. Please use it: check the date and the start time in particular, because those are the two we cannot fix afterwards without applying the cancellation policy.

4. Prices, currency and VAT

  • All prices on this website are in South African Rand (ZAR) and include VAT. ZAR is the only currency we quote or accept.
  • The total shown before you confirm is the total for the bay and any club hire. There are no booking fees, service fees or delivery charges added afterwards.
  • Food and drink ordered on the day are charged separately at the desk.
  • Rates can change, but never for a booking already confirmed. The price you were shown is the price you pay.
  • If a price is displayed incorrectly through an obvious error, we will contact you before taking payment and you may cancel the booking without charge.

5. Payment

While our Payfast account is being approved, bookings are not paid for online. A bay is held as soon as you book it and is settled at the desk when you arrive, by card or cash. The rest of this section describes how online card payment works once it is switched on, and applies from that date.

Card payments are processed by Payfast by Network, a registered South African payment provider. Your card details are entered on the payment provider's secure page and are never seen by, sent to or stored on this website or its database. We receive only the result of the transaction.

Card transactions are authenticated with 3D Secure, the one-time PIN or in-app approval from your bank. If that authentication fails or is not completed, the payment is declined. A declined payment is not a fault on your side or ours; try again, use a different card or email us at bookings@stingersindoor.co.za and we will take the booking another way.

We accept Visa and Mastercard, debit and credit. American Express and Diners Club are not accepted online.

Cardholder authentication
  • Verified by Visa
  • Mastercard SecureCode
This site is served over HTTPS only. Card details never reach us. Staff access to the booking system requires a second factor and no signature or identity number appears in any public page or public response.

6. What you receive and when

A confirmed bay for the period booked, delivered at our premises on the date and at the time you chose, plus an immediate email confirmation carrying your booking reference. We do not ship, dispatch or export anything. The full detail, including what happens if a bay is not available when you arrive, is in the delivery and fulfilment policy.

7. Changing or cancelling

In short: free to move or cancel more than 24 hours before your slot; inside 24 hours you can move it or take a 12-month credit voucher, but not a cash refund; a no-show is charged in full; and if we cancel, you choose between a full refund and a free reschedule. The complete policy, including how refunds are paid and what happens if something genuinely prevented you from arriving, is on the refund and cancellation policy page and it forms part of these terms.

The seven-day cooling-off right

Section 44 of the ECT Act gives consumers seven days to cancel certain online purchases without reason. It does not apply here: section 42(2)(g) excludes leisure services that the supplier undertakes to provide on a specific date or within a specific period, which is exactly what a booked bay is. Our own 24-hour policy applies instead and in practice it is the more useful of the two.

8. House rules and safety

A golf club moving at speed in an enclosed bay is the most dangerous thing in the building. Everything below follows from that.

  • Everybody who plays signs the indemnity, once. Under-18s are signed for by a parent or guardian.
  • Stay clear of the swing area and out of the impact zone while somebody is playing.
  • Follow the staff on anything to do with safety or equipment. This is not negotiable and it is the one thing we will ask you to leave over.
  • Under-18s must have a responsible adult present in the venue at all times.
  • No alcohol is served to anyone under 18 and we will ask for identification.
  • We may refuse service to or remove anybody who is intoxicated, aggressive, unsafe with equipment or abusive to staff or other guests. No refund is due in that case.
  • Damage to a simulator, screen, hitting mat, club or any other equipment caused deliberately or through obvious recklessness is recoverable from the person who booked.
  • Right of admission reserved.

9. Our liability

We take reasonable care of you and of your belongings and we carry the responsibility the law places on us. Within those limits:

  • We are not liable for injury, loss or damage arising from your own failure to follow the safety rules or a staff instruction.
  • We are not responsible for personal property left unattended on the premises.
  • We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.
  • Where we are liable for a booking, our liability is limited to the amount you paid for that booking.
  • Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act.

10. Things outside our control

If we cannot honour a booking because of something genuinely beyond our control, whether that is loss of power beyond our backup, loss of network, fire, flood, unrest or an instruction from an authority, we are not in breach of these terms. You still get a full refund or a free reschedule, your choice.

11. Your personal information

What we collect, why, how long we keep it and what you can ask us to do with it is set out in the privacy notice. We do not sell personal information, we do not share it for advertising and there is no advertising or analytics tracker on this site.

12. This website

The Stingers name, crest, photography, copy and the design of this site belong to us and may not be reproduced without our permission. You may not attempt to interfere with the site, the booking system or the dashboard or use them for anything other than making and managing your own bookings.

We try to keep opening hours, rates and availability accurate and current, but we do not warrant that every page is free of error at every moment. Where a confirmed booking is affected by an error of ours, clause 7 and the refund policy apply.

13. Complaints and disputes

Tell us first. Email bookings@stingersindoor.co.za with your booking reference and it goes to the owner rather than the desk. We will acknowledge within two working days and try to resolve it directly, because that is faster and cheaper for both of us than anything else on this list.

If that does not settle it, you may approach the National Consumer Commission or the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud. Nothing in this clause stops either of us going to court.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa and any dispute falls to the South African courts. The transaction is concluded in Gqeberha, Eastern Cape.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update this page. The version that applies to your booking is the one published when you made it and the date at the top of this page tells you which that is. Material changes will not be applied backwards to bookings already confirmed.

16. If part of this fails

If any clause turns out to be unenforceable, the rest stands. Not enforcing something once does not mean we have given up the right to enforce it later.
